Cardiovascular Imaging

The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville Division of Cardiovascular Imaging provides a valuable liaison between the Department of Radiology and clinical cardiovascular specialists, including adult and pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons at Shands Jacksonville. The cardiovascular imaging experts perform non-invasive diagnostic imaging of the heart, great arteries and veins, as well as surrounding structures, such as the pericardium. Available imaging methods include magnetic resonance (MR) imaging (1.5 and 3.0 Tesla), computed tomography (CT) scanning (single- and dual-source 64-slice) and nuclear imaging including single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and hybrid positron emission tomography (PET-CT).
