With our centers of excellence attracting patients from around the corner and around
the region, there are many diverse opportunities for you. By volunteering at an
academic medical center, you can work alongside University of Florida faculty physicians
and other professional staff as they perform patient care and teach future healthcare
providers. Perhaps you would like to work in our gift shop or as a patient escort.
Volunteers are assigned to approximately fifty departments at Shands Jacksonville
based on availability, interests, skill and abilities. Patient contact is available
for those who prefer it, or you may choose to work behind the scenes. Whatever your
interests or special skills are, we have exciting and challenging opportunities
for you.
